The pros and cons of wind energy (Part 2)

The defect of wind energy

1. The biggest drawback to wind power is that it is discontinuous. Electricity can be produced and provided adequately when the wind is strong enough, there are times when the wind settles, producing electricity by wind power is impossible. Efforts have been made to store wind energy successfully and use it in conjunction with other forms of energy, however, to make this source of energy a major source of energy in the near future, This needs to be quicker and more spacious.

2. Due to the intermittent nature of wind energy, it needs to be stored or additional ordinary energy sources must be used. However, its storage costs a lot of money and countries have to use fossil fuel plants to meet their energy needs.

3. There have been previous reports of the dangers posed by windmills to birds. Because of the considerable height of windmills, it often causes collisions with flying birds, and a large number of birds die for this reason.

4. Windmill installation faces severe opposition from people living in a neighborhood where wind power plants were planned to be built. Factors such as the speed of the wind and its frequency are taken into account before choosing where to install a windmill and sometimes locals strongly oppose the plan. One of the main reasons for their opposition is that windmills will cause noise pollution.

In addition, some argue that wind turbines adversely affect the aesthetics of a city and the tourism industry in their area.

We have just shared some advantages and disadvantages of wind energy. Wind power is undoubtedly one of the future sources of energy, but it is important that governments around the world need to allocate resources to improve existing technologies. While wind energy has its drawbacks, we have no reason to forsake this renewable source of clean energy and hinder efforts to realize its full potential.

Homebuilt Wind Power

Wind energy conversion is steadily proliferating as the average cost of energy increases. As more individuals are becoming environmentally aware, clean alternative energy sources that are cost-efficient are being sought at an extremely high rate. The use of homebuilt wind power in residences is exploding exponentially as individuals and builders are discovering the many benefits […]

How Wind Power Works

As the price of energy increases, many people are turning to more economical and environmentally friendly energy alternatives. The wind energy market has seen an increase of about forty-five percent last year. The estimates for 2008 are about the same. Wind power production in the United States spans over thirty-five states, with the Midwest holding […]

Plans for Homebuilt Wind Power

As the wind energy market grows and changes, many residences and small business owners are developing plans for homebuilt wind power. Homebuilt wind power has many great and far-reaching advantages. Its economical and environmental benefits cannot be overlooked. However, there are a few factors that should be examined before beginning plans for homebuilt wind power. […]

Residential Wind Power

Wind energy conversion is steadily proliferating as the average cost of energy increases. As more individuals are becoming environmentally aware, clean alternative energy sources that are cost-efficient are being sought at an extremely high rate. The use of residential wind power is exploding exponentially as individuals and builders are discovering the many benefits of generating […]

Wind Mill Power

For hundreds of years, communities have used wind mill power to meet their energy needs. From the simple vertical axle windmills of ancient Persia to the modern electricity generators of contemporary communities, the use of wind mills is constantly evolving. Today, the term wind mill power is commonly used in reference to grinders and pumps, […]

Wind Power

Wind Power is an interesting concept and design that converts energy from the wind to a more useful form of energy. The use of wind power has roots in the ancient European flour mills and the American water pumps. Wind turbines are the most commonly used tool of conversion and the wind power is most […]

Wind Power Companies

Wind power is the fastest growing alternative energy source in the world. As such, it can be expected that wind power companies are proliferating as entrepreneurs are beginning to see the practical and economic benefits of wind energy conversion. Since the beginning of the millennium, wind power companies have been emerging as leaders in the […]

Wind Power Energy

Wind power energy is growing in popularity. In the year 2007, wind energy generation increased in the United States by 45%. The year 2008 is projected to do the same. Growing concern over environmental issues and the public depletion of fossil fuels leaves many people searching for an economical and practical solution to the energy […]

Wind Power Facts

Wind power usage is on the rise as industry leaders and residential owners are discovering this cost-efficient and environmentally friendly energy alternative. In 2007 alone, the United States expanded its wind power generation by 45%. The American Wind Energy Association, along with many environmental and special interests groups, is dedicated to providing interested parties with […]
